A Bloody Affair- a Longstreet Campaign- Enter Lt Col Lane

A good part of my brigade is finished, ready to play. We are 6 at the club interested in a campaign, three Federals and three Confederates. It's the perfect time to start a Longstreet campaign. Remember, in that game, we all know the Union will win the war. It's a matter of points, earned during the battles. Therefore, I will try to post everything that happened, and, if possible, in the form of letters sent by my Avatar or by other players.

44th Foot Abercromby in Canada

What a strange weather we have here. Today it's pouring, but yesterday, we had a wooping 17°C and lots of of sun. Geese, ducks and cranes are flying north again... in February... Anyway. Back to the brushes. And today we have some Franco-Indian wars stuff, what we French call the Wars in Canada.Hence the beaver (I know, I know, cliché...) But in France it's either that or the lumberjack. Now wait a minute...

Choices of the week #8

if only it was warmer. No wait, 14°C today. it's tropical man!
"Oh the weather outside is frightful. But the fire is so delightful. And since we've no place to go.Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow! " And read the weekly review of, in my point of view, the best wargaming posts. But remember, if you find a good blog, just tell me. I might not know it.

Hop.

Paint table Saturday #5 And black became colour!

Goodness me. One week already gone! Still one more during my holidays, and I'm enjoying it.
First of all, a warm welcome to congtan huynh. Lots of plastic minis on his blog. It reminds me of my youth. Ahhhh.....
Erm. Though I rest a lot, exercise a lot (weight lifting), and watch a bit of TV, I still manage to paint a bit. My British are finished and have been sent to Curt, as expected, and now it's the turn of the ACW stuff and my next bonus entry.

What I actually have on my desk should be finished- ie painted and varnished- before I go back to wet London. I'm not sure about the rest, but who knows. if you look carefully into the blue box, you'll see my final bonus entry, but no word until the end of the challenge ;) See you tomorrow for my weekly review of the blog world.
On verra.

For sale! A new page

Still on holidays with my parents. I've finished painting my British unit for the BfC project, and I'll send the pictures to Curt in a moment. Meanwhile, I've been rumaging through stuff I had accumulated since I started wargaming in 2001.
It really is amazing the amount of lead you can accumulate. And yes the lead moutain is a reality for me. I discovered that I wouldn't be able to paint everything, especially when you interest in some eras/scales... you know what I mean. Therefore, I've created a dedicated page where I will list all the stuff I don't want anymore. Most of the time, it will be unpainted, but I know somme painted miis will appear. Should you be interested, just contact me and make me an offer.  And yes, the categories will all be full of goodies.

Go over there: http://backtotheminis.blogspot.fr/p/painted-in-2013.html

Just for fun: this appeared when I googled "throwing stuff away". WtF!?!

[Longstreet]My new heroes

I'm peacefully painting my way through my Longstreet brigade. I have to write down all the historical background of my avatar, but first, let's enjoy some pictures of my newly painted 15mm heroes.

Choices of the week #7

Barely dropped my luggage at my parents' house, and I'm up and running. I can't let you down, especially when, like last week, about 800 posts were published. I might be on holidays, but it not a reason for not being serious ;)

Allez hop

Saturday painting table #4

Another week, another Saturday. Thanks to Sofie, I present you my paiting table.

Now that is strange! Well, not quite so, since I leave tomorrow for France with my daughter, to spend two weeks with my parents, I had to pack everything I would need: paint, basing gunk, varnish, and lots of minis.

My casualty bonus entry is finished and I have sent the pictures to Curt. So, stay tuned, you'll see them soon enough. My Franco-Indian war British for the BfC project are almost done, just a couple of highlights to do, and then varnish. They're in the blue box. But I've also taken my Character bonus entry figure, my Last stand bonus entry dio, and lots of ACW troups (cavalry, artillerry, infantry and limbers). Once back, hopefully, everything will be painted, and I'll just have to flock them before sending the pics to Curt.

Cheerio, and see you tomorrow for your favourite Sunday paper !

[Longstreet] "West Point battery"

Allright everyone. Time to get serious. What would a Union army without artillery? Huh? It's time to get the big guns.

Bon!

Choices of the week #6

Time for our weekly rendez-vous, fellow readers. Around 800 posts were published this week, in the blogs I usually follow. Yup, that's quite a lot, but I managed to select some, for your eyes only. And remember, should you know a blog, tell me about it. I'm always eager to discover new ones. Cheers.

Paint table Saturday #3: more lead to paint

Hello everyone. I haven't been as productive as I hoped for, but with this week's tube strike, and my first game in more than two months, I have some excuses.

So, I still have the Franco-Indian wars minis to finish, though most of the base colours are now done, and so is my next bonus entry.

But I've also added more unpainted lead, in the form of a new ACW unit in 15mm for my Longstreet campaign, with some support. I have played my first game, and I need reinforcements. So, on to the prep-and-priming process.

I wanted to show you my whole table, but everything's Google related refuses to upload it. Grrrrrrr.
So, to compensate, a nice video, to cheer you up during this week-end:

A new but small project: biblical Egyptians

Hi everyone. Between two ACW units, I intend to paint some stuff for a small Art de la Guerre project. Indeed, since I will enter a tournament in France, and the guy organizing it is ready to lend me an army, I just need to paint some units to have a complete and playable, according to my army list.

Salut a tous.

Choices of the week #5

Huget scores!
Is this our 5th rendez-vous? Already? Well, not bad at all. I'm still motivated to continue this series, so here we go. But just before beginning our wonderful tour of the wargaming blogosphere, a quick message to our fellow from the UK (ok , I live here, but hey): We won! We won! In the nick of time, and after a great game, in which everything could have happened. Well played England, but, we were the best!

Saturday painting desk#2

I'm finally getting in a good routine and posting routine. Hopefully it will continue that way. So, this week on my painting desk, after having painted some ACW stuff, I decided to change my angle.

On the left, you can see the British light infantry for the BfC project, already started, and just below the brushes, my next bonus entry, based on Carthaginian and Roman history ;)
